Brewster, yet to make his first-team debut for Liverpool, decided the game in Goa with two goals in the space of three first-half minutes - before England went on to add two more.
The England No. 9 opened the scoring on 11 minutes following excellent work from Manchester City playmaker Phil Foden.
His cross was parried by the keeper straight to Brewster, who showed excellent composure to volley the ball home.
Then, on 14 minutes, Brewster made it 2-0 with an even better finish.
Foden, again, was influential as he carried the ball forward from midfield and slipped a pass through to Brewster.
As the keeper ran off his line, Brewster calmly dinked the ball into the far corner of the net to give England a two-goal lead.
United States, who boasted Tim Weah, son of George, in their starting XI, responded well and put the England goal under sustained pressure in what remained of the first half.
But Brewster could and should have had a hat-trick when he weaved into space in the box, only to fire his shot agonisingly wide.
The Liverpool forward then turned provider as he set up Morgan Gibbs-White for the third goal, the Wolves man converting with a magnificent volley on 64 minutes.
United States replied when Josh Sargent scored on 72 minutes but Brewster had his hat-trick deep into injury time.
Sergino Dest was shown a red card when bringing the Liverpool forward down when through on goal and Brewster got up to convert a brilliant spot-kick.
England will play the winner of the match between Germany and Brazil in the semi-finals.
The match will be live on Eurosport and Eurosport Player on Wednesday.
