Late Georgia change. Qazaishvili is off for Khocholava.
A free-kick is played into the Georgia box and it's flicked on and McGeady blazes over! Golden chance.
Chanturia is a talented little player, he was on loan with Barcelona B as a kid, but has had serious injury problems and he seems to lack a bit of confidence now.
Long does brilliantly to keep the ball alive and he feeds McClean who bursts into the box. Makaridze gets out well to make the save and just about deals with the follow-up.
Change for Georgia as Merebashvili comes on to give Kviltaia a breather.
Ananidze is down and clutching his face. McClean has gone clattering into him. He's won the ball but he's also got a considerable chunk of man as well.
Brady sends in a decent corner but it's cleared. He gets another chance but it's straight at the keeper. He's struggled tonight.
McClean gets a little space on the right and fires a shot towards goal which is beaten behind. Whelan is now off and Murphy is on. Corner comes to nothing.
The substitution has galvanised Georgia. Chanturia links up well with Kakabadze and they try and cause some problems down the right. Ireland hold firm.
- Yellow cardJames McCleanRepublic of Ireland
McClean is furious. He's been booked for smacking the ball away after Long is penalised. He thinks he's been booked for the foul but he hasn't it's for kicking the ball away. Luckily for Ireland that doesn't rule him out of the Serbia game.
Good ball in from Kakabadze. Kviltaia gets the header away but it's always going to be tough from there. Jigauri is off and Chanturia is on.
McGeady's first real involvement sees him break at speed. He goes for the shot but really he should have gone for the pass. Brady gets a better shot away but Makaridze catches it and then parries it.
Christie sends in a better cross as he's played in by McClean. Long jumps but heads over.
McGeady seems to have quite a free role, which before was Brady's domain. Brady has dropped a little deeper. Christie gets space down the right but doesn't get his head up and crosses to no-one in particular. Navalovski is down with a shoulder issue it seems like.
- Yellow cardJaba JighauriGeorgia
And there's another yellow as Jigauri takes out McClean.
- OffHarry ArterRepublic of Ireland
- OnAiden McGeadyRepublic of Ireland
First change of the night as McGeady replaces Arter.
A long throw from Christie is headed out to Arter. He chests it and hits it with his left on the volley but it's straight down Makaridze's throat.
Ireland have a corner as Long chases a long ball and plays it back to McClean whose cross is deflected behind.
Referee blows for a foul and he doesn't look 100% convinced what or why he's given it. Kvekveskiri is down but he definitely kicked Long. However it's been given for Long's high boot.
Georgia aren't Spain. Some of their passes aren't coming off. The problem is that when they get the ball Ireland are just wasting it.
Georgia starting to come back into it and enjoy some more possession. They do look very composed at the moment. Ireland need to change something.
First effort of the half comes from Ananidze. Whelan loses out in a 50-50 on the edge of the box and it comes to Ananidze. He tries to curl it into the bottom corner but it goes wide.
Already Ireland are playing a little higher. They need to keep that up for the rest of the half.
Welcome back. There are no changes to tell you about, let's see if Ireland can find a second goal to go back in front.
The half ends with some intense pressure from Georgia and as we go in level Ireland need to dig deep here and find something, they've been very poor since the goal.
Duffy gets on the end of it and Makaridze makes a decent stop. That'll help his confidence.
Chance for Ireland late in this half as Kashia heads behind for a corner.
Ireland just about deal with a corner when McClean is forced to put the ball behind. Ireland are clinging on here...
Georgia have their tails up here and a speculative effort from Kverkvelia from range takes a deflection. Randolph gets down well to gather.
- Yellow cardNika KvekveskiriGeorgia
We have our first yellow as Kverkvelia goes in really recklessly on McClean. He did get the ball but that was rash. He's lucky that's not a red. This game is bubbling nicely.
- GoalValeri QazaishviliGeorgia
GOAL! GEORGIA 1-1 IRELAND (QAZAISHVILI)
What at terrific goal from Georgia and they absolutely deserve it. It starts with Gvilia who fires a beautiful ball into the feet of Ananidze. He takes a clever touch and slips in Qazaishvili who keeps his cool and slots it under Randolph.
Another free-kick in a good area as Kverkvelia takes out McClean. He's perhaps lucky not to get a yellow.
It's a really poor ball from Brady. He's normally very reliable but Ireland do have other options...
McClean does well to chase down a ball and keep it in. It falls to Long who takes it on the volley but it goes wide.
Georgia manager Vladimír Weiss holds onto the ball to stop Ireland taking a quick throw and Walters has no time for this and snatches it away. Weiss pretends to look outraged.
Game has gone a little quieter now but Georgia are still looking dangerous through their full-backs as Duffy makes another aerial clearance.
Navalovski picks up the ball on left and cuts inside past Christie. However he has no right foot and decides to use the inside of his foot, and the cross is easily cleared.
He gets another chance and this is a much better cross as it goes to the back post but there's no-one there.
Kakabadze dummies and tricks McClean. He sends in a cross/shot and Randolph elects to punch it away.
Brady gets another free-kick in a good area and this time his delivery is better but Duffy is flagged by offside, or maybe a push as replays suggest he was onside.
Oh as I write that a great ball is fizzed in from Georgia's right. It's flicked on but there's no-one at the back post and it goes wide.
GREAT CHANCE! Walters curls in a cracking ball from Ireland's right at the other end, thanks to more great work from Long, but McClean's header goes wide.
Georgia are dominating possession but they aren't doing much with it. A long throw from Ireland doesn't amount to much either.
Now Georgia have a free-kick as Ward is penalised for a foul on Jigauri.
Here's that Duffy goal.
Meanwhile Georgia have a corner that is headed behind.
I tell you what Shane Long may not have scored for club and country since February but with his pace and work-rate you always feel that something is possible.
The ball comes in from the Georgian left again but Kviltaia's header goes straight to Duffy. Kviltaia needs support.
Long does well to win a free-kick for his team high up the pitch. Brady takes it but it's too high and goes out. Makaridze didn't look comfortable with that either.
Decent spell of possession with Georgia ends with Ananidze, who's playing as the 10, clipping a ball out of play.
Ireland dropping deep now in order to absorb pressure. Walters does really to cover and intercept a pass. Long already looks a little isolated but they have their goal.
Georgia are unhappy for a foul Makaridze from Duffy as he scored but they're moaning over nothing. The goalkeeper just made a terrible call.
- GoalShane DuffyRepublic of Ireland
GOAL! GEORGIA 0-1 IRELAND (DUFFY)
Free-kick to Ireland on the half-way stage and GOAL! Duffy scores!
That's horrendous mistake from Makaridze. He comes to try and claim it but he gets nowhere near it and Duffy heads into the empty net. Brilliant start for Ireland!
Georgia do well to work the ball down the left and it is swung in. Jigauri is rising but it's still over him.
And we're underway!
Good start from McClean, who is on the left, as he pressures and pushes Georgia back near their box.
Right a couple of minutes until kick-off.
Let's hear your predictions!
Martin O'Neill and Jonathan Walters have been speaking to SKy ahead of the game. As far as O'Neill is concerned Georgia are a lot better than the table suggests but then again you'd expect him to say that.
Ahead of his 50th cap Walters has spoken about his desire to make it to a World Cup. At 33 this will almost certainly be his last chance.
Andddddd the water breaks have gone
This is going to be a tough game for Ireland.
Georgia are exactly type of team they need to be beating home and away if they want to qualify for a World Cup. Anything less than a win and Tuesday's home game against Serbia becomes extremely important.
One to keep an eye on during the game, we're going to have a water break in each half.
It does look fairly warm out there.
HOW THINGS STAND
Ireland are currently joint top of the group with Serbia, four points ahead of Austria and Wales.
Georgia are yet to win a game but their three draws means they are above Moldova.
Makaridze, Kakabadze, Kverkvelia, Kashia, Navalovski, Kvekveskiri, Gvilia, Jigauri, Ananidze, Qazaishvili, Kvilitaia
The team for Georgia tonight looks like 4-5-1 with Qazaishvili pushed up to support the youngster Kvilitaia.
Right let's start with the visitors. The big news for them is that Jon Walters is fit enough to start. He makes his 50th appearance.
Randolph, Christie, Duffy, Clark, Ward, Brady, Arter, Whelan, McClean, Walters, Long.
Good afternoon and welcome to live coverage of the Republic of Ireland's trip to Georgia.
