Another victory and clean-sheet for England, but it has been another unimaginative and unconvincing display.
Nevertheless, the Three Lions end the campaign unbeaten.

A late change from the hosts...

There shall be two minutes added on.

Into the final five minutes, can England give their travelling support something to cheer about?
GREAT CHANCE FOR LITHUANIA!
Matulevicius is released behind the England defence and the ball sits up perfectly for him, but his half-volley is struck straight at Butland who gathers on the second attempt. Either side of him and it was a goal.
WIDE FROM STURRIDGE!
Lingard gathers the ball inside the box, tees up Sturridge who fires a right-footed effort at the advertising hoardings.
- OffDele AlliEngland
- OnJesse LingardEngland
Desperate for someone to inject some excitement into this England team, Southgate throws on Jesse Lingard, who replaces Alli.
England have been too static for much of this second period. Despite a change in formation, it has been another disappointing performance from Southgate's side.
Better from England as Kane and Alli link-up in attack with the former finding Trippier on the channel, but the final ball is poor.

It is bad news for Scotland as they are now losing 2-1 in Slovenia, meaning they will miss out on a play-off place...

- OnDaniel SturridgeEngland
Rashford was pretty lively in the first half, but anonymous since the restart. He is replaced by Daniel Sturridge for the final 20 minutes.
Kane manages to create some space to have a shot from the edge of the penalty area, but his weak effort goes just wide of the post.
CRESSWELL GOES CLOSE!
Henderson finds space on the right and he swings in a cross from the by-line, finding Cresswell whose header forces Setkus into a good save as he pushes the ball out for a corner.
England were OK in spells in the first half, but they have been rather unimaginative since the restart, to say the least.
Proof of Butland's earlier save...
Better from England - Winks rolls the ball to Alli who finds space for a shot on the turn but cannot find the target.
Good football from Lithuania as Sernas is set up on the edge of the box, but his effort is always rising. That was probably the best move of the match from the hosts.
Alli over-runs the ball and Setkus can claim. It is turning into a rather scrappy encounter with England appearing to be happy to settle for a one-goal win.
Cresswell's deep cross is headed back into the danger area by Stones, but it just evades Keane and Lithuania clear!
Back to the action here and England still lead through Kane's 27th minute penalty. The visitors have been dominant, but have created very few clear cut chances.

Gordon Strachan's side need to win to land a place in the play-off...
CHANCE FOR LITHUANIA!
A dangerous low ball into the England box causes Keane all sorts of problems, and in an effort to concede a corner he almost inadvertently sends it into his own net! He is bailed out by Butland who makes a good reactive save.
Setkus isn't at all convincing as he punches Cresswell's dangerous cross right into the path of Winks, but he makes amends with a smart save from the Tottenham playmaker's shot.
Almost a debut goal for Winks.
Kane, forced into a wide area, wins a corner for England which ultimately comes to nothing.
Sernas leans back and skies his shot over the bar from the edge of the box. A distance chance for Lithuania, squandered.
Henderson over-hits a cross and the ball rolls out for a goal-kick. The Liverpool skipper has been rather wasteful in possession this evening, it has to be said.
Lithuania build an attack patiently, but then Novikovas runs the ball out of play, much to the satisfaction of the travelling support.
England haven't made any changes in the personnel at the break, and Southgate will be hoping his side can create more clear cut chances than they did in the first period.
England get the second half underway.
- End of 1st Half
England have dominated long periods of the game and deserve to go in at the break ahead. Harry Kane's penalty is the difference between the teams at the interval.
One minute of added time to play.
Cresswell sneaks to the back post, Kane spots his run but just cannot execute the pass as it rolls out for a goal-kick.
Cernych's first-time volley goes inches wide of Butland's post, but to be fair the Stoke goalkeeper had it covered.
Winks has also been thoroughly impressive in this first half. Lovely quick feet, the Spurs man has.
Rashford, probably England's stand-out player in the first half, is back on his feet and will be fit to continue.
Concern for England - and Manchester United - as Rashford goes over inside the box after a challenge by Andriuskevicius. He got the ball, but it looked painful.
Scotland are leading Slovenia in the other Group F game, meaning they should claim a play-off place.

Rashford charges forward on the right with his lightning speed, rolling a ball across goal for Kane, but he sees his shot deflected for a corner.
Winks is given acres of space on the right and he curls a delicious cross to the back post. The Lithuania goalkeeper doesn't get near it, but it comes too quickly for Alli who can only bundle it over for a goal-kick.
Lithuania try to respond immediately as they win a free-kick on the right, but Novikovas's delivery is well cleared by Maguire.
The Leicester centre-back is enjoying himself on his debut.
- Goal by penaltyHarry KaneEngland
GOAL - KANE SCORES!
A superb penalty from England's talisman as he sends the ball into the bottom left corner. The goalkeeper dived the right way but couldn't get near it.
PENALTY TO ENGLAND!
Alli is brought down inside the box by Verbickas, and the referee has no choice other than to point to the spot.
This is the perfect chance for Kane to put the visitors ahead...
KEANE GOES CLOSE!
Lithuania fail to clear Cresswell's deep free-kick, and the ball eventually sits up nicely for Keane just inside the box, but the Everton defender screws his first-time volley wide of the goal.
That is the closest England have come.
A fair assessment.
Frustration for England as Rashford loses the ball on the edge of the hosts' box, and in an effort to win back possession, Henderson instead concedes a free-kick.
Lithania come forward once more, forcing Alli to concede a corner. Klimavicius rises highest to the subsequent set-piece, nodding the ball towards Verbickas' whose effort is sent straight at Butland.
Rashford tries to swing a ball across the face of goal from deep with Alli to aim for, but again it is catching practice for Setkus.

Lithuania are showing plenty of attacking intent in the early stages of the game.
Verbickas curls in a cross to the near post, but Stones rises high to clear with a header.
Lithuania have lost their last two home matches, they haven't lost three in a row since August 2001 (six).
Winks wins the ball, drives to the by-line and plays a clever pull-back to Alli, but he is dispossessed on the edge of the penalty area. Too ponderous.
THE HOSTS SHOULD BE AHEAD!
Sernas peels away from Maguire at the back post as a cross comes in, but somehow slices his first-time effort wide of the goal from inside the box. A let off for England!

Alli spins his marker on the left channel, feeding Rashford who finds Trippier on the opposite channel. His cross is blocked, and England have a corner.
LITHANIA SHOOT OVER!
Novikovas shoots on sight, but his speculative effort from 25 yards is blazed well over the bar.
The game is underway!
Just over 5,000 fans are here for this qualifier on a wet and miserable evening in Lithuania.
Kick off is NEXT!
It is time for the national anthems...
Speaking to press before the game, Southgate said his side want to experiment with a new system - the 3-4-3 - and admits his team have to use the ball better.
Commenting on Winks, Southgate said: "Winks is a good passer of the ball, of course it is a bit early for him but we think this is a good game for him."
Are you optimistic of an improved performance?
As well as adjusting to the artificial surface, England also have to play in the rain - bless them!
And it's bad news for the travelling supporters too - as if they didn't have enough to deal with!
Jermain Defoe and Jamie Vardy were on the scoresheet as England beat Lithuania 2-0 at Wembley back in March.
What are your predictions for this evening?
England are hoping to conclude a fourth successive qualifying campaign with an unbeaten record.
Their last defeat in a qualifier was a 1-0 loss in Ukraine on their way to the 2010 World Cup.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Harry Winks
The Tottenham midfielder only earned a place in Southgate's squad after injuries to Fabian Delph and Phil Jones.
But now the 21-year-old is set to start alongside team mates Alli and Kane in what should be a more creative and free-flowing England side.
It can't get any worse than Thursday evening, can it?
DID YOU KNOW?
England have won all three of their previous encounters with Lithuania on the international stage, scoring nine and conceding none in the process.
Can England take some inspiration from the youngsters?
England ultimately got the business done against Slovenia at Wembley, but only after a late Harry Kane winner. The discontented home support expressed their frustration throughout a laboured display, and Southgate insists he was also annoyed by his team's style of football.
"Everyone was disappointed with the performance, none more so than me. We want to learn things from the game and don't want to waste that opportunity," said Southgate.
"We'll make changes but want to get the balance right. It is a results business - but the way I want to play is to entertain as well.
"We were very clear in our mind how we wanted to evolve and we've got an extra game to do that now, which is a great opportunity to look at a couple of things."

Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE text commentary of England's final World Cup qualifier.
Today, Gareth Southgate's side - who have already secured their place in Russia, thanks to a 1-0 victory over Slovenia on Thursday - take on minnows Lithuania, a nation who have scored just twice in their last six group games.
After such a lacklustre performance against Slovenia, today represents an opportunity for Southgate's second-string to impress and perhaps give the former Middlesbrough manager something to think about next summer.
Team news will follow in a moment. Kick-off: 17:00.
