Zinedine Zidane wants to bring back the role of a sporting director to the club to take care of signings, according to reports.
Zidane has identified Luis Campos, the Portuguese who was an assistant to Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu in 2012-13, according to a report in Telefoot.
Madrid president Florentino Perez is currently de facto sporting director at the club, in absence of such a position, but 51-year-old Campos is believed to be wanted after leaving the position at Monaco last summer.
Campos is fluent in several languages and is thought to be ideal for the role and is highly coveted across Europe, with AC Milan and Marseille thought to be interested in recruiting him.
There had been reports in AS in summer that Zidane had wanted to bring in Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici but he confirmed he had no desire to leave Turin, where he has been since 2010.
