The races will be the third and fourth in F1's new era of regulations, which will feature bigger, wider tyres.
For round three in Bahrain, the medium, soft and super-soft will be available to teams, as was the case last season.
In Russia, Pirelli has opted to go one step softer with its choices than it did in 2016, meaning the ultra-soft tyre will be used for the first time at the Sochi track, alongside the super-soft and soft compounds.
Teams must keep one set of the softest compound for Q3, which will be the super-soft in Bahrain and the ultra-soft in Russia.
Usually, Pirelli mandates three of the 13 sets per driver, with teams free to make their own selection for the other 10.
But with a new tyre being introduced for 2017, all 13 sets for each driver will be identical and defined in the regulations for the first five races.
This will be made up of seven sets of the softest of the three nominated compounds, four of the middle compound and two of the hardest compound.
