Ferrari to apologise for fracas after Singapore win

Following Sebastian Vettel's victory at the Marina Bay street circuit, a large group of Ferrari mechanics made their way to parc ferme in order to celebrate the triumph and see the German on the podium.

A line of barriers, attended by a handful of security staff, initially held back the Scuderia personnel, with a couple breaking through and into the area where the photographers were standing.

As Vettel celebrated in front of the photographers, the larger group then managed to push the barriers to the floor and get past the security staff.

The incident resulted in a team representative, sporting director Massimo Rivola, reporting to the stewards, and following a hearing Ferrari has to apologise.

A FIA statement read: "The stewards, having received a complaint from the secretary of the event and the members of the security contingent at post-race parc ferme, that some members of Scuderia Ferrari failed to obey instructions of relevant officials and behaved in an inappropriate manner, have heard from the team manager [Rivola], the secretary of the event and the head of the security contingent.

"The team representative has offered to have the team principal [Maurizio Arrivabene] send a written unconditional apology to those who were affected and to give an assurance there will not be a recurrence."
