The Formula One season resumes following its summer break at a race which always proves one of the highlights of the year: the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.
This year's race may look more like the Dutch Grand Prix as thousands of Max Verstappen fans are making the trip from the Netherlands to cheer on F1's newest star.
The 18-year-old dazzled fans with his gutsy overtaking at this track last year. But the high-speed circuit will play against his Red Bull this weekend as their straight-line speed remains a weakness.

Team to watch: Mercedes

  • The significant step forward Mercedes made at Silverstone indicates they should be especially strong this weekend. Germany's Auto Motor und Sport magazine published revealing data from the race showing how Mercedes' rivals, particularly Red Bull, couldn't compete with their high-speed acceleration at a track with similar characteristics to Spa.

  • Lewis Hamilton heads to Spa having extended his points lead over Nico Rosberg. He still has an engine change penalty to take but the chances it will cost him the championship lead have dramatically reduced.
  • Could Spa's notorious weather catch Mercedes out? Red Bull would certainly relish a spot of rain, but at present a fine and sunny weekend is forecast..

Also on the radar: Williams

  • Williams have been Mercedes' most successful customer team since they first started using the three-pointed star's engines in 2014. However their crown is in danger of slipping. The team has admitted some of the upgrades it has brought to its FW38 this year haven't delivered the expected gains. Felipe Massa is not having a great season, scoring just two points since Monaco.
  • Force India have turned up with a quicker car on several occasions already this year and taken two podium finishes to Williams' one. They are closing in on the Grove team in the championship.
  • The Spa track demands good straight-line speed – a Williams strength – and strong aerodynamics for the faster corners – where Force India have an edge. With prize money as well as championship points at stake it's going to be a fascinating contest between these two teams in the second half of 2016.

And not forgetting: Spa-master Raikkonen

While Kimi Raikkonen is having another less than outstanding season at Ferrari, Spa is a track where he usually excels.

The Finn has won four times at the Belgian track, though his last victory was back in 2009. He's also had a vote of confidence from the team's management, gaining a contract extension for next season.
Heading into the summer break Raikkonen was showing signs of getting on terms with team-mate Sebastian Vettel even in qualifying – something of a surprise for a driver who's never been a one-lap specialist. This promises to be one of his strongest weekends of the year so far.
