Ambuehl wins first Big Air World Cup of season

Elias Ambuehl enjoyed a perfect start to the Big Air World Cup campaign with victory in Milan.

The Swiss skier received 86.40 points in his first scored run in Italy before his second earned him 90.80.
An amassed total of 177.20 put the three-time X Games bronze medallist top of the leaderboard, with Sweden's Hugo Burvall finishing just a point behind for the silver medal.
Ambuehl's Swiss teammate Andri Ragettli completed the podium line-up, winning bronze with a score of 173.80 points.
Italy's Ralph Welponer recorded a sixth-place finish on home snow, scoring 161 points, with Norway's Oystein Braaten and Switzerland's Jonas Hunziker in fourth and fifth respectively.
Birk Ruud, who finished behind Sweden's Henrik Harlaut in the overall Big Air standings last season, finished eighth.
