GB Women's handball team enjoyed their first outing in front of their home fans since 2012 when they hosted Belgium in two friendlies in Edinburgh.
The women's team, who were formed to take up Great Britain's host nation spot at the London 2012 Olympic Games, lost the first match 31-36.
Kathryn Fudge impressed with 13 goals however with Zoe van der Weel beating the keeper eight times.
Both were on target again four times in the second match but they were unable to turn the tables on their opponents as they slipped to a 37-17 defeat.
Despite the losses, British Handball chair Paul Bray was quick to pinpoint the positives, notably the emergence of the younger talent in the squad.
He said: "This was a welcome return to home soil for the GB women's team and we would like to thank Oriam for hosting us.
"We were able to rely on some experienced players in the squad this weekend. However, it is very encouraging to see young players coming through our talent pathway as well.
"We were up against a more experienced opponent, but this was a good performance by our young team and one we can build on."
