The race was held at the Central Moscow Hippodrome, of which Swiss watch brand Longines was the proud Official Partner, Timekeeper and Watch of the Russian Federation President’s Cup for the second year in a row.
Kruglykhin has enjoyed a useful start to the racing season in Russia which started back in April with victory in the Group 3 Entrance Stakes. The trainer and jockey continued his recent run of form on the American-bred five year old Conard Lord in the renewal of the President’s Cup which was again witnessed by an enthusiastic crowd in the Russian capital.
The Russian Federation President’s Cup, established in 2004, is the most important annual competition for thoroughbred on the Russian racetracks. The event attracts attention of horse breeders and lovers, as well as all the Muscovite population. For this reason, this competition is a significant sporting event, which is attended every year by the Russian President, and this year also by Longines Ambassador of Elegance Ingeborga Dapkunaite.
The race day at the Central Moscow Hippodrome was the perfect occasion to discover the Official Watch of the event, a lady model of The Longines Master Collection with a blue dial.
Longines’ passion for equestrian sports dates back to 1878, with the design of a chronograph featuring an engraved jockey and his mount. Seen on the racetracks as early as 1881 and extremely popular among jockeys and horse-lovers, this model enabled its user to time performances to the second.
Today, Longines’ involvement in equestrian sports includes partnerships with important international institutions, races, competitions and events in the disciplines of racing, show jumping, eventing, endurance, driving and dressage.
