Highlights of Thursday's NHL games

Lightning 4, Wild 1

The Tampa Bay Lightning, scrapping for every point in a wild-card logjam, picked up two points Thursday night with one of their more impressive wins, surprising the Minnesota Wild in a 4-1 victory at Amalie Arena.

Andrei Vasilevskiy won for the fourth time in five games since taking over as Tampa Bay's primary goaltender with the trade of Ben Bishop last week, stopping the first 28 Minnesota shots. He finished with 32 saves. Nikita Kucherov continued his hot streak, adding two goals and assist to give him nine goals in his past eight games.

Victor Hedman and Andrej Sustr also scored for the Lightning, while Marco Scandella scored for the Wild.

Hurricanes 4, Rangers 3

Sebastian Aho scored a pair of third-period, power-play goals as Carolina overcame New York at PNC Arena.

Jeff Skinner and Valentin Zykov, who was making his NHL debut, also scored for the Hurricanes, who won for only the second time in the last seven games.

Mika Zibanejad scored twice for the Rangers, who also received a goal from Chris Kreider. Derek Stepan was credited with two New York assists.

Maple Leafs 4, Flyers 2

William Nylander, Tyler Bozak, Mitch Marner and Nazem Kadri each scored a goal and Toronto defeated Philadelphia for their second straight win.

Wayne Simmonds and Shayne Gostisbehere scored for the Flyers.

Frederik Andersen made 36 saves in the Toronto goal, while Flyers netminder Michal Neuvirth stopped 31 shots.

Ducks 1, Blackhawks 0

Corey Perry scored and Jonathan Bernier made 43 saves as Anaheim snapped Chicago's seven-game winning streak at the United Center.

Perry snapped a scoreless tie with 2:16 remaining in the second period with his 12th goal of the season and first in 11 games. Perry found himself a lane and fired a shot through traffic and to Corey Crawford's stick side that found its way into the back of the net.

Flames 5, Canadiens 0

Johnny Gaudreau had a goal and three assists as Calgary beat Montreal for their eighth consecutive win.

Michael Stone and Sean Monahan added a goal and an assist each, while goalie Brian Elliott made 24 saves for his first shutout of the season. Micheal Ferland and Mark Giordano also scored for the Flames.

Al Montoya finished with 33 saves in net for the Canadiens, who had won six games in a row.

Kings 3, Predators 2 (OT)

Jarome Iginla scored his first two goals since joining Los Angeles, including the game-winner during a 4-on-3 power play in overtime.

The Kings pulled within a point of the idle St. Louis Blues for the second wild card out of the Western Conference. Marian Gaborik scored at 10:55 of the third to make it 2-2 while Iginla's goals give him 621 for his career.

Nashville rookie Kevin Fiala, who was a healthy scratch in a 4-3 shootout loss Tuesday at Anaheim, gave the Predators a 2-1 lead 1:31 into the third period.

Senators 3, Coyotes 2 (OT)

Erik Karlsson had two goals and an assist, including the game-winner in overtime on a 2-on-0 break, and Mike Condon made 39 saves as Ottawa won its fifth straight game with a victory over Arizona at Gila River Arena.

The win pulled Ottawa within two points of Montreal for first place in the Atlantic Division. The Senators have two games in hand.

Brendan Perlini and Lawson Crouse scored for the Coyotes, while Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored the other Senators' goal.

Sharks 4, Capitals 2

Logan Couture scored a pair of power-play goals while Brent Burns added three assists on his 32nd birthday as San Jose beat Washington.

Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski also scored for the Sharks while Daniel Winnik and Brett Connolly scored for the Capitals.

Avalanche 3, Devils 2

Francois Beauchemin scored the tiebreaking goal at 18:46 of the third period, and Colorado beat New Jersey.

Nathan MacKinnon and Rene Bourque also scored, and Calvin Pickard made 25 saves for the Avalanche, who have won two straight for just the fourth time this season.

Taylor Hall and Stefan Noesen had goals for the Devils, and Cory Schneider stopped 19 shots.

Islanders 4, Canucks 3 (OT)

Andrew Ladd scored with 1:33 gone in overtime to give New York a win over Vancouver.

Brock Nelson, John Tavares and Anthony Beauvillier scored for the Islanders. Josh Bailey had three assists. The win leaves the Islanders one point ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs for the final wild card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Troy Stecher, Reid Boucher and Sven Baertschi scored for the Canucks. Vancouver remains six points behind St. Louis in the race for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
