Capitals 4, Bruins 3 (OT)
Nicklas Backstrom scored with 3:24 left in overtime as the Washington Capitals defeated Boston, snapping the Bruins' three-game winning streak.
Backstrom broke in a two-on-one with Nate Schmidt, fed Schmidt, who sent the puck back, and Backstrom fired past goalie Tuukka Rask.
Justin Williams scored twice and Daniel Winnik added a goal for Washington in regulation. Braden Holtby made 31 saves.
Dominic Moore, David Pastrnak and Colin Miller scored for Boston. Rask stopped 16 shots.
Wild 3, Maple Leafs 2
Jason Zucker, Chris Stewart and Eric Staal each scored a goal as the Minnesota Wild defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Ben Smith and Tyler Bozak scored for the Maple Leafs.
Devan Dubnyk stopped 35 shots in the Minnesota goal and held of a surge by the Maple Leafs, who battled back from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits.
Toronto goaltender Frederik Andersen made 17 saves.
Senators 4, Sharks 2
Chris Kelly's tiebreaking goal at 18:54 of the third period enabled the Ottawa Senators to beat the San Jose Sharks.
Kelly picked up a bouncing puck that neither Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic nor Justin Braun could handle at center to break in alone on Martin Jones.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau added an empty-net goal with 15.1 seconds left.
Ducks 6, Hurricanes 5 (SO)
Ryan Getzlaf and Ondrej Kase scored in a shootout as the Anaheim Ducks rallied for a 6-5 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
Goalie John Gibson stopped 29 shots in regulation and overtime, and used his right leg pad to block Jeff Skinner's shootout attempt to secure the victory for the Ducks.
Corey Perry added his first goal in 18 games, and Stefan Noesen scored his first NHL goal in his third career game.
Teuvo Teravainen scored twice for the Hurricanes, who received 33 saves from Cam Ward.
The Ducks scored twice within 1:31 late in the third period to send the game into overtime.
