The 22-year-old prop, who made his debut for the Wildcats in their 66-6 Challenge Cup victory over Hemel Stags in 2013, has signed a two-year contract.
Shulver becomes the second signing for coach Brian Smith following the arrival of Warrington front rower Anthony England.
" Wakefield Wildcats is like home for me," Shulver said. "I have been here since I was 15 going through the scholarship and academy and when I got the opportunity to come back, I jumped at the chance.
"I only left last year but there seems to be a lot of new faces around the club so I am looking forward to working with them and with Brian as well.
"I did enjoy my time in Australia but it was very different to what I expected, having to work as well as playing made me realise how much I enjoyed the game and I wanted to push myself harder."
