Davis is a full-time England sevens player and made it through the gruelling two-month boot camp with players from England, Scotland and Wales, to make the final cut of 12 players to compete at what will be rugby sevens' Olympic debut.
The back represented England at under 16 and under 19 levels before being named as Rugby World Schools Player of the month in 2011 and then being chosen for the Rugby World All Stars team.
Now, just days away from Rio 2016 and with two year's experience on the HSBC Sevens World Series under his belt, Davis is set to make an impact at world sport's biggest showcase.
"I feel pretty ecstatic. Rugby being new to the Olympics, with the hype around it, has been massive," said the 23-year-old former Loughborough University student.
"We have tried to build our Team GB spirit as a squad over those last two months and we haven't tried to get too carried away with the end goal.
"When it came to selection and competition time, then we were focused on putting the 12 that did get selected, in the best place possible to perform.
"To be selected in that 12 is an amazing feeling, something that I am very grateful for and hopefully I can back up the decision of the coach to select me, in the competition when it comes."
With the Great British nations competing independently of each other outside of Olympic competition the players were only brought together for the first time two months ago.
Head coach Simon Amor prioritised forging a team spirit and cohesion within the squad and Davis feels as though the hard work has paid off.
"Straight away everyone got together, rallied, and it's been a great two months," added the centre.
"All of the teams are challenging, the top nations are there and that's what you want, you want to be playing against the best.
"Some may say other pools are more challenging than others, but we'll take whoever we got drawn against.
"We'll go out there, do our best for Team GB and whatever that results it, will be it. But we'll certainly go there aiming for something strong."
