Yarnold finished ninth in Germany, slipping down to third in the overall World Cup standings, and revealed after the event that she felt dizzy during both her runs.
The 28-year-old has only returned to the sport this season, after taking a sabbatical for the entire 2015-16 campaign.
After winning the Olympic title in Sochi, three years ago, Yarnold pulled out of the Calgary World Cup event in December, 2014, after feeling dizzy during a win the previous round in America.
So the 2015 world champion was not taking this latest bout of dizziness lightly, but wrote on her website that she had been checked out by medical staff and was feeling fine.
"The high-pressure corners at Altenberg are tough and made me feel a bit dizzy after both runs, I've been checked by our team and all is fine, feeling much better now," she said.
"The cold and snowy weather all week has made training quite difficult. So I was pleased that I was at least a second faster than I had been during the week."
The skeleton World Cup continues in Winterberg, next weekend.
