Jansrud recorded a total time of 2:37.61 to edge teammate Svindal by 0.04 and the pair were joined on the podium by France’s Adrien Theaux, who was 0.13 seconds behind the leader.
Svindal was fastest in the downhill as he clocked 1:48.10 ahead of France's Adrien Theaux while Jansrud was third 0.9 seconds back.
Jansrud clocked 48.61 on his second run which was the seventh-fastest time but it was enough for him to climb to the top of the standings with Svindal dropping to second and Theaux third.
While the slalom wasn't the strongest for Jansrud he managed to stay in contention and clinch victory – though he knows his aggression could have been costly.
The Norwegian one-two ensures an eleventh World Cup win this season which will equal the country’s best season for men and women combined since the 1998/99 season.
"You're at the start and you try and push it. That's what I did, you have to be aggressive going in, but I never know what to expect," said Jansrud.
"I think I pulled of a pretty good run on the top and the middle section and suddenly I kicked off in the last third there and I felt like I wasn't going to save it, but somehow I found my new outside ski and managed to fight my way to the bottom.
"That made me quite surprised when I came in and saw the green light, so that was a happy moment. It's pretty sweet."
Austria's Marcel Hirscher still leads the overall standings with 801 points but the World Cup is now a much closer affair with Svindal back on 716 while Henrik Kristoffersen is third and Jansrud fourth.

In the women's World Cup slalom race in Flachau Austria, France's Nastasia Noens missed out on a first ever World Cup win as Slovakia's Veronika Velez Zuzulova claimed victory.
Zuzulova, who won the night slalom in Flachau on Tuesday, was second behind Noens after the opening run but came through to claim victory - the fourth of her career, and her second in four days.
Noens had claimed the lead with a stunning first run, but ended up fourth - with World Cup leader Frida Hansdotter taking second place and Slovakia's Petra Vlhova coming third.
