The Rocket scored 117 in the second frame to hit back after losing the opener and although Higgins took the fifth frame to edge back to 3-2, it was plain sailing for the five-time world champion as he set up the showpiece match with Judd Trump without conceding again.
Trump had earlier secured his place in Saturday's final with a 6-3 victory over fellow Brit, Jack Lisowski.
Trump took a two-frame lead thanks to a break of 70 in the second before Lisowski rallied to level the scores over the third and fourth frames.
Trump, 28, came back in style with the only century of the match, a break of 105 putting him 3-2 in front.
After losing the next frame 74-8, Trump came back again to win the next three frames to secure a 6-3 victory. The final win was secured after a spotted black.
Trump will be hoping for his second major tournament victory of the season, after winning the European Masters earlier this year.
