It was a double delight for Austria in the men's and women's parallel slalom as Andreas Prommegger and Daniela Ulbing rode to victory at the snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada, Spain.
Prommegger beat compatriot Benjamin Karl in the final, with the latter, world champion in 2009 and 2011, having to settle for silver.
It was Prommegger's first ever win in his 17th World Championships, and it came in dramatic fashion, with the champion stealing the lead two gates from the end after Karl made a mistake, costing him the lead and a third parallel slalom world title.
Andrey Sobolev of Russia beat Swiss snowboarder Nevin Galmarini to take bronze.
Menawhile, 19-year-old Ulbing beat defending champion Ester Ledecka of Czech Republic to take the gold medal in the women's final in a stunning display by the young Austrian.
Ledecka took silver while Russian Alena Zavarzina won bronze after beating Germany's Cheyenne Loch in the small final.
