Andy Murray has revealed the staggering level of sexism Amelie Mauresmo was subjected to when the two-time Grand Slam winner coached the Scot.

The Frenchwoman, who coached Marion Bartoli to the Wimbledon title in 2013 and had also captained of France's Fed Cup team, began coaching Murray in 2014 following his split from Ivan lendl.
Murray has previously spoken of his disappointment at the criticism the appointment drew but has gone into further detail during a wide-ranging interview with Elle.
"When it first came out in the press that I may be working with a woman, I got a message from one of the players who is now coaching. He said to me:
I love this game that you're playing with the press; maybe you should tell them tomorrow that you're considering working with a dog.
"That's the sort of stuff that was said when I was thinking about it."
Murray won seven titles with Mauresmo in his corner – including his first two on clay – yet that did not stem the barrage of criticism.
"The amount of criticism she got in comparison to any other coach I've ever worked with — it's not comparable at all," Murray says.
"Now, when I lose a match, I get the blame. When I was working with her, it was always her fault."
Murray, 30, has not played since his quarter-final loss at Wimbledon against Sam Querrey but is expected to be fit for the upcoming US Open.
