Australia's Kyrgios and Gavrilova have Hopman Cup hopes ended

Australia's Nick Kyrgio and Daria Gavrilova had their Hopman Cup hopes ended when they lost to the Czech duo of Lucie Hradecka and Adam Pavlasek in the mixed doubles.

Kyrgios had earlier beaten Adam Pavlasek 7-5 6-4, meaning the pressure was on his team-mate.

Gavrilova pushed Hradecka to three sets, but the Czech player ultimately edged it, 4-6 6-4 6-4.

The mixed doubles was also a close affair, with the Czech team seeing it through, winning 3-4(1) 4-3(1) 4-2.

Kyrgios and Gavrilova were the 2016 champions.
