Donna Vekic hits back at Nick Kyrgios over Stan Wawrinka sex slur

Stanislas Wawrinka’s girlfriend Donna Vekic has spoken out following Nick Kyrgios’ derogatory comments made about her to the Swiss star.
Australian badboy Kyrgios hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons once again last week when he engaged in some on-court trash-talking with Stan Wawrinka during a Rogers Cup match.
Kyrgios, who was widely criticised at Wimbledon for his on-court antics against Richard Gasquet, reacted angrily to a comment made by Wawrinka by telling him: “(Thanasi) Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend. Sorry to tell you that, mate.”
Croatian Vekic, a rising star on the women’s tour and Wawrinka’s partner, has responded to the jibe by claiming that she is “disappointed” but vowed not to make too much of it and hopes that the Australian will learn from the experience.
"It's not easy but I'm trying to focus on tennis and my next match," said Vekic to Canadian newspaper The Province.
"I haven't spoken to Kyrgios. But it's a very disappointing thing to be happening in our sport and I hope it won't happen again because it's not a very good image for our sport."
Vekic was asked if she thinks the increasingly unpopular Kyrgios would have learned from the incident, she said: "I hope so."
Kyrgios’ compatriot Kokkinakis was reportedly unhappy with the behaviour of his Davis Cup team-mate, which catapulted the 19-year-old into the media limelight.
“He apologised to me," he said.
