The ruling from the ITF comes following an incident at a Fed Cup match between Great Britain and Romania in April where Nastsae was abusive towards British number one Johanna Konta and the GB Team Captain Anne Keothavong.
The match was suspended and Nastase has now been handed this ban with the ITF ruling saying.
- Mr Nastase is suspended from acting in an official capacity (including, but not limited to, team Captain) in all Official ITF Team Competitions included under Bye-Law 2.1(a) of the ITF Constitution, individual competitions included under Bye-Law 2.2(2), and Official ITF Tennis Circuits included under Bye-Law 2.2(3) from 23 April 2017 (the date on which he was provisionally suspended) until 31 December 2020.
The ITF also announced that Nastase would be fined $10,000 and banned from all ITF events until 2018.
Nastase's other charges were 'highly inappropriate' and 'racially insensitive' comments about Serena Williams' unborn child, abuse towards members of the press and abuse towards match officials.
Nastase and the Romanian Tennis Federation both have 21 days to appeal the decision.
