Last season, Serbia's Novak Djokovic won the tournament for the first time after an intense fight with Andy Murray. On the women's side, Spain's Garbiñe Muguruza won the title for the first time in her career.
However, this time around both draws are much more open, with world No 1 Andy Murray in poor form, and Rafa Nadal beaten in Rome by Dominic Thiem, while Serena Williams' absence also leaves a hole that needs filling at the top of the women's game.
