The Serb began his campaign with victory over Poland's Jerzy Janowicz - despite requiring treatment to his arm. World No. 49 Vesely was given a mighty scare by Indian qualifier Saketh Myneni before coming through in five sets. His hard hitting and flat forehands are sure to give the top-ranked Djokovic a few problems.

The prolific German is on a roll after winning the Australian Open and was runner-up to Serena Williams at Wimbledon; the former semi-finalist in New York has high hopes of overtaking the 22-time major winner at the top of the rankings. But the 32-year-old Croat is a former two-time Grand Slam junior champion and won't be an easy pushover.

BRITWATCH

Johanna Konta will be hoping to continue her fairytale journey against Tsvetana Pironkova while Britain's Davis Cup hero Kyle Edmund, fresh from his upset against Richard Gasquet, takes on 20-year-old American Ernesto Escobedo.
