FISU joins the UN and other International Organisations to mark the International Women's Day

GENEVA - On 8 March 2017 FISU President Oleg Matytsin and Secretary General/CEO Eric Saintrond have attended a roundtable, organised at Palais des Nations by the UN Office in Geneva to celebrate the International Women’s Day.
FISU President MatytsinThe roundtable ‘International organisations and sports federations: a winning partnership for gender equality’ featured a number of high-ranking representatives of international organisations and sports federations, including IOC Vice-President Yu Zaiqing, IOC General Director Christophe de Kepper and many other Presidents and Secretaries General of international sports federations.
Equal gender opportunities being one of its all-time guiding principles, FISU, represented by Mr Matytsin and Mr Saintrond, also took this opportunity to join the International Gender Champions initiative, a leadership network to promote gender equality under the auspices of UN Geneva Office.
FISU was among the first international sports federations to join this network, among whose members there also are World Health Organisation, International Labour Organisation, World Economic Forum, International Telecommunication Union, International Committee of the Red Cross, UNCTAD etc.
