MALTA - Team up, suit up, speak up! FISU representatives, Kacper Czarnota and Jordan Kenny, FISU Student Committee Members, attended the European Youth Sport Forum, hosted by Malta during its tenure as President of the European Union which kicked off on 10 March, jointly hosted by the European Commission and SportMalta.
The forum, attended by FISU for the first time, is designed as an opportunity for young people and youth organisations to have direct influence over Malta’s Presidency, bringing together 120 participants from different backgrounds and countries who share a common love for sport and the impact it can have on society.
The forum focuses on three main topics; social inclusion and volunteering through sport, healthy lifestyle through sport and sport diplomacy. A part of day one’s focus was on celebrating diversity; understanding that diversity is central in addressing the most challenging issues and the role physical activity can empower inclusive environments. The main outcome of the Forum will be a set of recommendations in the form of a pink paper as recommendations to the European Union Commission, Member States and the wider sport movement.
Other attendees were representing University sport such as Marjukka Mattila, President of the NUSF Finland and Andrej Pisl, EUSA Communication and Projects Manager.
