#IDUS2016 celebrated in Costa Rica

COSTA RICA - On 19 September Costa Rica began its #IDUS2016 celebration with a conference attended by more than 400 students at ‘Tecnologico de Costa Rica’ and in the presence of delegates of the Costa Rican University Sport Federation FECUNDE as well as national and academic authorities. Keynote speaker Yamil Brenes, National Triathlon Champion, Olympic coach and motivational speaker presented the topic ‘My way to personal, academic and professional success’.

Minister of Sport Mrs. Carolina Mauri C officially opened the ‘International Day of University Sport’ pledging to work hand in hand with the National University Sport Federation on future projects.

The same day a 3x3 Basketball championship took place on the campus of the ‘Tecnologico’. The next day, on Tuesday 20 September, Costa Rican Universities celebrated #IDUS2016 with various sporting activities throughout the country and on different university campuses.
