#IDUS2016 celebrations in Mongolia

ULAANBAATAR – The celebration of the ‘International Day of University Sports’ (20 September) in Mongolia coincided with the 6th Asian University Men’s Basketball Championship that is hosted in the country’s capital Ulaanbaatar from 19 to 24 September. Some 150 delegates and student-athletes from 7 countries and regions participate in the event, i.e. China, Hong Kong China, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Macau China, Chinese Taipei and Mongolia.

On 20 September, matches between China – Korea, Macau- Kazakhstan and Mongolia - Chinese Taipei took place. To commemorate IDUS on 20 September, the NUSF of Mongolia organized a symbolic celebration for all participating teams with the players wearing dedicated FISU t-shirts and the playing of the FISU Anthem. Mr. Jargalsaikhan, FISU CIC Vice-Chair gave a speech and a large celebratory cake with the logo of #IDUS2016 was presented.

The celebration of this day was broadcast on several Mongolian television stations.
