Iconic is a word that is often overused in sport.
However, it was truly iconic when the black Ford GT40 ended six straight years of Ferrari dominance at Le Mans back in 1966.
So 50 years later, Ford returned to WEC and repeated the trick at the 2016 iteration of the event.
What is your favourite moment from their season so far?

The comeback

Ford takes part in its first race for 50 years, after the GT40 won a historic 1-2-3 treble beating rivals Ferrari in a legendary motorsport moment at Le Mans.
The new model was based on the new Ford GT supercar and the team had its eye fixed firmly on a repeat of their win in 1966, even at this early stage...

The podium at Spa

Ford claims second place at Spa in the last race before Le Mans following a thrilling finish.
It was the best result of the season at that time and came despite a terrible crash for the #66 Ford GT driver Stefan Mucke - who fortunately was OK - when exiting Eau Rouge...

The victory at Le Mans

The Ford GT of Sébastien Bourdais, Joey Hand and Dirk Müller takes victory in the LM GTE Pro category at Le Mans after another epic battle with Ferrari.
The car took the lead for the final time in the 20th hour of the 24-hour race and went on to create another historic moment 50 years after their last victory...
