Battle for second was pure class, says WTCC’s Chilton
Tom Chilton described his battle for the runner-up spot with Rob Huff in the Opening Race at FIA WTCC DHL Race of Qatar as “pure class”.
The British pair were locked in a thrilling battle for second place with Chilton coming out on top by 0.609s.
Afterwards, Sébastien Loeb Racing driver Chilton said: “The fight between me and Rob Huff was pure class. It was inch-by-inch perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. Every lap was like a qualifying lap. We’re carrying 80 kilos of ballast and we’re having to monitor the tyre life and push hard like we do in qualifying. It was very exciting and I’m so happy.”
