Boosted Michelisz aims to add to WTCC win tally in China
Norbert Michelisz says his first FIA World Touring Car Championship victory as a factory Honda driver has given him a “huge confidence boost” – so much so that he has high hopes of adding to his five WTCC career wins in China this weekend.

The Hungarian won the Opening Race at WTCC JVCKENWOOD Race of China earlier this month. He arrives at the Shanghai International Circuit fifth in the WTCC standings and firmly in contention for the coveted runner-up spot.
“To get my first win as a factory Honda driver was a dream come true and for it to happen in Japan, of all places, was just fantastic,” said Michelisz. “You get a huge confidence boost from winning and my plan is to use that boost to turn this weekend’s round in China into another very good one. We have shown that even with the maximum compensation weight, we were able to win in Japan, so with a lighter car this weekend, we have a very good chance of doing it again.”
All Honda Civic WTCCs will carry 60 kilograms of success ballast this weekend, 20 kilograms less than in Japan and the amount on board the rival Citroën C-Elsyée WTCCs.
