Girolami upbeat as WTCC 2017 resumes in China
Néstor Girolami reckons he’s in a “good position” to get his FIA World Touring Car Championship challenge back on track in China this week.
Girolami has endured a tough maiden WTCC campaign with Polestar Cyan Racing and languishes ninth in the table after 12 races.
But after a summer of testing and development, combined with the fact the all-new Ningbo International Speedpark represents unchartered territory for the WTCC drivers, Girolami is in buoyant mood.
“The new circuit is very different and as we haven’t driven there before, it will be a great challenge,” he said. “But we have adapted well so far to new circuits and with the preparations during the summer break, I definitely think we are in a good position. As we have just four race weekends left, it is vital to work together as a team and I know that we have what it takes to beat our rivals.”
