WTCC racer Gleason to fight hard in Argentina
Kevin Gleason will fight hard at FIA WTCC Race of Argentina as he bids to bounce back from a frustrating qualifying.
American racer Gleason is P15 on the grid for today’s Opening Race but has vowed to battle up the order in his RC Motorsport entry.
“It’s a really frustrating weekend so far with the first practice getting cut short,” Gleason explained. “I felt pretty good in the second practice and then I just wasn’t able to get the new tyres to work in qualifying and I was one second slower than I was in practice on used tyres. So, for me, I’ve just got to get the elbows out and get a good start.”
Gleason continued: “We made a lot of changes to the car overnight, improving the balance to gain more traction, and hopefully those will sync with the track conditions and I have a good car to race with. I was having trouble to get the tyres to work and the car only worked in a small window. If you went outside that window it was all over the place and really, really difficult to drive and to drive consistently.”
