Barcelona 6-1 PSG
It was Neymar's finest hour in a Barcelona shirt. With his side needing three goals to progress against Paris Saint-Germain and just two minutes of normal time remaining, the Brazilian stepped up.
His first was a beauty, the second from the spot created a huge swell of momentum, and with 95 minutes of the second leg gone, Neymar chipped in a peach of a ball for Sergi Roberto to turn home. What followed were scenes that will live long in the memory.
The Patriots' Super Bowl comeback
It was the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history, inspired by a legendary performance by quarterback Tom Brady.
The New England Patriots were 25 points down to the Atlanta Falcons, but produced a miracle to take the game to overtime, and by that time the momentum had swung so far in their favour it was only ever going to go one way.
Sergio Garcia FINALLY winning a Major
Sergio is one of the most loved characters on tour, but most even his biggest fans were beginning to fear that his chances of winning a Major had slipped away.
Not so, as the Spaniard held his nerve in a play-off with Justin Rose before slipping into his fetching new green jacket.
Neymar's big-money move
Barcelona thought they had tied down Neymar for good with a £198m buyout clause. But astonishingly that was not the case, as Paris Saint-Germain stumped up the cash to pull off the biggest transfer in football history.
Usain Bolt's World Championship heartache
The 4x100m relay was Bolt's chance to finish on a high after his disappointment in the individual event.
But then this happened and the greatest sprinter of all time bowed out at a low point.
Mo Farah being beaten
Great Britain's multi-gold medalist hasn't hung up his boots just yet, but Mo Farah's chance of securing a fifth consecutive major championship 'double double' ended in disappointment as Muktar Edris pipped him to gold.
Tom Dumoulin's bathroom break
"Oh no! No, no, no! Dear oh dear oh dear!"
Rob Hatch voiced the thoughts of all viewers as eventual Giro d'Italia champion Dumoulin dropped his drawers and relieved himself at the side of the road mid-race.
Ronnie O'Sullivan and shoe-gate
World Snooker's relationship with Ronnie isn't always the best and so it proved again when the Rocket cited medical concerns for a rogue choice of footwear.
The subsequent fallout almost cost him a place in the tournament.
