Britain will have its best ever Winter Olympics. It won’t take much: the previous best is four medals, set in Chamonix in 1924 and matched in Sochi in 2014. But Team GB head to PyeongChang with a realistic shot of exceeding that with medal prospects in short track, curling, skeleton, freestyle skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, bobsleigh and maybe even cross-country skiing.

Kev Coulson

Germany to win the World Cup. They probably have two XIs that could win it.

Dan Quarrell

Novak Djokovic will return in dominant fashion, winning two Grand Slams and reclaiming the world number one spot ahead with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray unable to match him.

Jen Offord

Charlton Athletic will be promoted to the Championship.

Pete Sharland

Argentina will win the World Cup, with serial choker Gonzalo Higuain scores the winning goal...

Alex Chick

World Cup: England won’t be entirely depressing at a major tournament for the first time since 2004.

Ben Snowball

Panama will beat England.

Gary Taylor

Lindsey Vonn to win Winter Olympic gold in PyeongChang.

Michael Hincks

Dele Alli will see red as England crash out to Germany in the World Cup quarter-finals...which in turn means I'm wildly predicting three-ish tournament wins.

Demi D’Cunha

Roger Federer to win his 20th Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.
