Following his pulsating victory in the downhill yesterday on the Scandinavian slopes, the Austrian narrowly finished 0.04 seconds clear of Italy's Christof Innerhofer, who posted a time of 49.47 seconds.
There was a dead heat for the final podium position as Aksel Lund Svindal and Thomas Dressen tied for third place, both posting times of 49.51 seconds on the shortened track.
This was Kriechmayr's third career title but the World Cup crown had already been wrapped up by Norway's Kjetil Jansrud, who finished sixth in Sweden.
Jansrud ended the season with an 80-point advantage and says it has been a campaign to savour.
"It's been a very good season. I started it off with a victory and managed to get on the podium in most of the other races," Jansrud said.
"But I'm very happy to have decided the result in Kvitfjell when I look at the results."
Norwegians have dominated the super-G, winning seven straight seasons, something which mightily impresses Jansrud.
"Seven times in a row is pretty insane," Jansrud said. "If there's a secret, I'm not going to say what it is."
