The superlatives are running out to describe Marcel Hirscher's slalom performances this season.
The 28-year-old Austrian added another feather to his cap this season as he won the Wengen slalom by almost a second from Henrik Kristoffersen.
That win makes Hirscher the first skier to win five consecutive men's slalom World Cup races since Giorgio Rocca went on a winning run from December 2005-January 2006.
Hirscher led after the first run with a time of 51.03s, earning himself a 0.35s lead over Andre Myhrer, and he was again fastest in the second run as one of only three skiers to dip under 55s.
Kristoffersen hit back in the second run with a time more than a second faster than Myhrer to give the Norwegian another second place ahead of the Swede, who still did enough to finish third.
That result sees Hirscher increase his lead over Kristoffersen in the slalom standings to 119 points, with the Austrian on a total of 554 – compatriot Michael Matt in third on 348.
While the leading pair also top the overall Alpine standings with Hirscher on 974, Kristoffersen 174 behind in second and France's Alexis Pinturault in third on 579.
