But the day was marred by a serious-looking crash for Marc Gisin, the Swiss stretchered off the mountain after a 30-minute delay.
Kilde's dominant run of 1:56.13 claimed just the third World Cup win of the Norwegian's career and first since February 2016.
The Norwegian was 0.86seconds ahead of Austria's Max Franz – the latter doing enough however to go back on top of the overall World Cup standings.
Third on the day was Beat Feuz of Switzerland, 0.92 seconds down on Kilde – whose previous best finish this season was a third in the Super G at Beaver Creek.
Kilde's compatriot and previously the overall leader Aksel Lund Svindal had to follow Gisin down the mountain and could only manage a seventh-place finish.
