Olympic champions Switzerland added the mixed team title to their list of accolades at the Alpine World Ski Championships in Sweden.
Wendy Holdener, Daniel Yule, Aline Danioth and Ramon Zenhaeusern were on song as they overcame the threat of the Austrians on time difference in the final.
Austria were up by one before Zenhaeusern took on Marco Schwarz and clocked an impressive 23.23 seconds to draw the overall scores level and push the Swiss team’s time advantage even further ahead.
Italy’s quartet of Irene Curtoni, Lara Della Mea, Simon Maurberger andAlex Vinatzer claimed bronze after beating Germany 3-1.
"Big hats off to Wendy and Ramon, who pulled the rest of us through and laid down the fast times," said Yule.
"The team spirit is always so nice, we had fun."
"We had a great team, a great team spirit, we were fighting for it and it's so awesome to race with these nice ski racers”, added Holdener, who won Friday's alpine combined.
"Even if we kicked out Sweden, we were really happy with the support, it was an awesome crowd today."
