Folkard will be hungry for prizes after narrowly missing out on recurve women's team bronze at the Archery World Cup in August. Accompanied by Sarah Bettles and Bryony Pitman, who will also compete at the World Championships, Folkard almost reached the gold-medal match at the Berlin event, but the team were narrowly beaten by Mexico. In the end, it was the compound team which stole the show at the World Cup, as they took silver after knocking out top seeds Mexico in the quarter-finals. Lucy O'Sullivan and Lucy Mason featured in that impressive win and will head to Mexico ready to go one better. Huston is flying just as high after one of his best seasons so far, in which he reached the top 20 in the world rankings for the first time. The 21-year-old won double gold at the Veronicas Cup, before claiming individual silver and team bronze at last month's European Field Championships, in Slovenia. Huston already has three World Championship titles as a junior and, after missing out on the podium at the Rio Olympic Games, will look to bag a senior medal in Latin America. As well as this wealth of experience, some of those representing Great Britain are young enough that they have also qualified for the World Youth Championships, to be held two weeks before the senior event. Pitman, Mason, Alex Wise and Luke Ralls will all have the chance to get a junior world title under their belt before competing at the senior World Championships on October 16. And, while he is certain his archers are capable of medalling, it is this young talent which excites Archery GB director of sport David Tillotson the most. "We are extremely excited at the potential of this squad," he said. "Four members of this team are representing us at both the World Youth Championships in Argentina and then moving onto the World Championships in Mexico. "The team will be expecting to be competing for medals at the World Championships."
