Athletics activate RHP Blackburn to start versus Royals

The Oakland Athletics activated right-hander Paul Blackburn from the 60-day disabled list and he will make his season debut against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night.

Maxwell, 27, was batting .182 with one homer and six RBIs in 18 games this
