The deal is worth $4 million, according to multiple reports.
Estrada, 35, will be looking to bounce back from a rough 2018 campaign in
which he went 7-14 with a 5.64 ERA in 28 starts for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Estrada went 32-26 with a 3.88 ERA for Toronto in the three seasons prior to
last year's struggles. He was named an American League All-Star in 2016 when
he went 9-9 with a 3.48 ERA in 29 starts.
Overall, Estrada is 62-66 with a 4.24 ERA in 278 career appearances (189
starts) over parts of 11 big league seasons. He also has pitched for the
Washington Nationals (2008-09) and Milwaukee Brewers (2010-14), in addition to
his four seasons in Toronto.
The A's outrighted right-hander Parker Bridwell to Triple-A Las Vegas to clear
a 40-man roster spot. The 27-year-old Bridwell, who was claimed off waivers
from the Los Angeles Angels earlier this week, will be a non-roster invitee
next month to big league camp at spring training.
