Athletics designate Morales for assignment

The Oakland Athletics designated veteran first baseman/designated hitter Kendrys Morales for assignment on Monday and activated outfielder/first baseman Mark Canha from the injured list.
Morales, 35, was batting just .204 with one homer and seven RBIs in 34 games
