Doyle excited about the prospect of a busy 2018

After a season spent concentrating largely on one major championship, Eilidh Doyle is relishing the prospect of targeting multiple events next year.

For the British Olympian and her athletics teammates, 2018 is set to be a busy season with the World Indoor Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Championships on the horizon.
That is in stark contrast to this year which saw the focus being the London-based World Championships in August where Doyle was chosen as the captain of the British team.
She marked it by helping the team to 4x400m relay silver but she admitted there was disappointment from a personal point of view in general from the season.
The 30-year-old reached the final of the 400m hurdles in London but was unable to trouble the medals.
And with the chance to try and put that right next year on multiple fronts, Doyle was keen to put this year to bed.
"2017 has been frustrating," Doyle told British Athletics.
"It has been one of the biggest seasons of my career and I was captain at the World Championships, which was a great honour.
"That was the highlight but performance wise it was up and down.
"Obviously I got a silver medal at the World Championships in the 4x400m relay but I would have liked to have been a bit more consistent in the hurdles and put together some better races.
"All in all I can't complain. Overall it has been a good year for me."
Doyle has not been short of opportunities to compete in front of a home crowd during her career.
And with the World Indoors taking place in Birmingham in March, she was glad to have another run of big events to look forward to.
"Sometimes when an event is over there is a down period and you ask ‘what's next?' but I have never experienced that – it's been the domino effect," she added.
"After London 2012, Glasgow 2014 was just around the corner and then the World Championships in London. After London 2017, it is just a few months to the World Indoors in Birmingham.
"I feel very lucky to have had a home Olympics, a home Commonwealth Games, a home World Championships and then potentially home World and European Indoors to come."
