Seven-time IBU World Cup Biathlon winner Martin Fourcade got his title defence off to the perfect start with victory in the men's 20km individual in Slovenia.

After the event was postponed yesterday due to fog coverage, the three-time Olympic champion edged out Germany's Johannes Kuehn, who finished 4.2 seconds behind and claimed his maiden career podium.
Simon Eder of Austria completed the top three, 19.7 seconds back from Fourcade, with all three men enjoying spotless rounds on the shooting range.
Fourcade – who sealed his fifth consecutive win in Pokljuka after never having won at the venue before 2016 – started in the second group of a busy field as quiet conditions made for a perfect shooting environment on the day.
It took some time for the pack to settle, with Norway's Johannes Thingnes Boe taking an early lead before eventually being hauled in by German Simon Schempp.
But it was his compatriot Kuehn who hit the front as he went clean at the second prone stage, while Fourcade made his move to jump into second place.
And when the Frenchman put in a third faultless shooting round, he hit the front with a 16 second advantage, slowing on the last loop of the track when victory was assured.
