Germany’s Laura Dahlmeier became the first Olympian to win the sprint-pursuit double after cruising to the women’s biathlon 10km pursuit gold in PyeongChang.
Having stormed to gold in the 7.5km sprint on Saturday, the 24-year-old - who is targeting six gold medals - finished 29 seconds clear after suffering just one shooting penalty.
A spectacular sprint for second saw Slovakia’s Anastasiya Kuzmina edge out France’s Anais Bescond by 0.2 seconds to take the silver.
Two-time Olympic sprint champion Kuzmina had 54 seconds to make up from the start, but shot up from 13th to third after the first shooting, and closed the gap on Dahlmeier to just nine seconds after the next bout.
Kuzmina then overtook Dahlmeier on the following loop, but two misses in the third shooting bout handed the advantage back to the German.
Dahlmeier made no mistake in the fourth and final shoot, as a flawless round allowed her to finish well ahead of the pack.
