Douglas and McNeill ready for European Championship challenge
Montell Douglas believes Great Britain can continue to defy expectations by scooping a maiden two-woman bobsleigh European Championship medal in Konigssee.
Douglas, the brakewoman to Mica McNeill, secured a World Cup personal best fourth-place finish last time out after leading the first run in Altenberg.
The former summer Olympian, who competed in the 100m on the track in Beijing in 2008, believes her partnership with McNeill is beginning to blossom.
"The confidence is no different after last week because we already believed we could compete with the very best and are doing ourselves justice," she said.
"There are of course still things that we can improve on and we do not take those things for granted. We're constantly looking at where improvements are to be made, so it's a work in progress.
"We're far from the finished product, so that's super exciting.
"Konigssee has been throwing some preparation curve balls for everyone this week but, as always, execution is the priority and we know the results will come."
The pair scooped a fourth-place finish at the European Championships last year – the event that doubles up as the fourth World Cup meet of the 2018/19 season.
Snow had threatened to cancel the event but the race will go ahead as planned in Germany.
