Johannes Lochner sealed the 2017 European four-man bobsleigh title with victory in the fourth World Cup event of the season in Winterberg.

Lochner and his team-mates Sebastian Mrowka, Joshua Blum and Christian Rasp were 0.45 seconds quicker than any of their rivals over the two runs.

The European silver went to Lochner's compatriot Nico Walther and his team of Kevin Kuske, Kevin Korona and Eric Franke.

The Austrian quartet of Benjamin Maier – who won European silver in 2016 – Stefan Laussegger, Markus Sammer and Danut Moldovan were third, 0.47 seconds behind.

Russia's Alexander Kasjanov is now top of the overall World Cup standings after finishing fourth on Sunday in Germany.
