American duo Elana Meyers Taylor and Lake Kwaza held their nerve as they came out on top in the two-woman bobsleigh at the IBSF World Cup in Lake Placid.
Three-time Olympic medallist Meyers Taylor and brake woman Kwaza produced two consistent runs to overcome the Canadian pairing of Christine de Bruin and Kristen Bujnowski.
Meyers Taylor and Kwaza posted a time of 57.31 seconds to sit in second after the first run behind Germany's Stephanie Schneider and Deborah Levi, who led with 57.20.
But a time of 57.48 in the second run was enough to hand Meyers Taylor and Kwaza victory by 0.38 seconds over de Bruin and Bujnowski, who were in third place after the first run.
The winning time of 1:54.79 was 0.48 seconds better than the overall time of Schneider and Levi, whose second run of 58.07 saw them finish in the final podium place.
The German pairing narrowly edged out compatriots Mariama Jamanka and Franziska Bertels, who finished in fourth place after producing an overall time of 1:55.28.
