British Superbikes news - Jake Dixon snatches pole in Brands Hatch to keep pressure on Leon Haslam
Updated 13/10/2018 at 13:11 GMT
Jake Dixon snatched pole position in qualifying for the first race of the final Showdown weekend at Brands Hatch.
The RAF Regular and Reserves Kawasaki rider is 61 points behind Championship leader Leon Haslam and will be delighted to have put the pressure back on his title rival.
A red flag came out in Q2 after Jason O'Halloran's bike leaked oil on to the track, causing crashes for Dixon and Luke Mossey.
However, the 22-year-old recovered and saw off competition from Glenn Irwin and Tarran Mackenzie with a time of 1:24.699.
Haslam will begin Race 1, which starts at 4pm and could confirm him as this year's champion if results go his way, in eighth.
